Box Photography

I usually advise from about the age of 1 is perfect for a box shoot, but it can be earlier than 1 as long as they are able to sit confidently. The box is best suited for children under the age of 8, as it can be a tight squeeze for older children.

Absolutely not! Box shoots can be used to celebrate anything or just to have wonderful photos of your children. They can be for school or nursery pictures, christenings, Christmas, etc.

Whenever you feel your child will be at their best. Mornings are usually best for little ones, but that is completely up to you!

Prior to your shoot, we will have a telephone conversation to plan your session.

I will ask you to decide on colour schemes or themes for you box shoot and from there you can plan what you might want to take with you. I usually advise around 2-3 changes of outfits, as well as some of your little one’s favourite things. Box shoots are a great way to exhibit your little one’s personality and their likes and loves, so their favourite toys, favourite books and special soft toys are perfect. I will provide bubbles and balloons (to compliment your colour scheme).

Due to the size of the box, the box shoots are child only. But that is the only limit. Siblings, cousins or even best friends are welcome in the box with your child.

When you arrive at the studio I will take you upstairs, where you can relax with a cup of tea or coffee while we discuss our plan for the shoot. You can show me the outfits and items you have brought with you and I will make a quick plan for the order in which we will take the images. Then we will get started! I will give your little one some time to get used to the box, play and explore it, until they are comfortable.
